RedDrop DX
Branding photos, videos, and a how-to video to set this science startup apart.
RedDrop came to us with a few unique challenges and needs. Working in the world of science and technology, we had to ensure that every piece of media that we created was in compliance with the level of approval the FDA had granted to RedDrop - aka, working with RedDrop came with a strict no-embellishment policy, and we kept that in mind when crafting RedDrop’s media.

RedDrop creates an at-home blood draw device that is placed on the user’s arm and, at the click of a button, begins to collect a sample that the user later ships off for evaluation. It is imperative that the instructions for how to use the device are clear and easy to understand, with no room for the user to get confused, so we settled on a few deliverables to address this challenge: a “How To” video that users will scan a QR code to visit, and, for users that prefer a PDF guide, a set of gifs clearly showing each step of the process for using the device.
In addition, as a B2C company, RedDrop is also in the business of looking good - here at threefive, we know as well as anyone that consumers love a website with inviting imagery. Like many startups, marketing and high quality imagery had fallen by the wayside as RedDrop worked to develop their product. Now here they were with a viable product, hundreds of thousands of dollars in sales, yet their website looked like they had just started their company in their parents’ garage a few weeks ago. In evaluating the site what we found was uninteresting and outdated. But alas - they had come to the right place.
So, to better draw users into the site and drive them toward the product page to purchase, we suggested 1) a header video that shows off the sleek product, and 2) a cohesive set of high quality brand photos to sprinkle through the site and begin to build a brand that feels inviting, friendly, easeful, and high-tech. After helping RedDrop to integrate all of their new media into their website, it’s safe to say that the mission was accomplished - take a look at https://reddropdx.com/ .
